Halycon Forge

A portrait of knifemaker Joe Schrum, whose Damascus steel blades—forged in the woods outside Hillsboro—reflect a life driven not by growth, but by craft, patience, and pride shaped on his own terms.

I produced and directed this short documentary, shaping the story through visuals and interview. The film explores craft, discipline, and human intention through intimate observation and cinematic imagery, from concept through final delivery. Winner, AAF St. Louis Award.
